BioCare
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- A mild to moderate sunburn-like sensation is anticipated. This usually resolves within 24-48 hours after treatment but may persist up to 72 hours. Cold compresses may be useful for the first 24 hours.
- Avoid hot showers, baths, or saunas for 48 hours after treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning creams to treated areas for 2-4 weeks post treatment.
- Refrain from applying anything to the skin for 24 hours. This will help minimize purging/breakouts post-treatment. If you must, use clean hands to apply gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF. This will help to alleviate some discomfort and soothe the skin.
- Days 1-5 post treatment, use an approved, gentle cleanser and moisturizer (Aquaphor or Cetaphil is recommended). Moisturize as needed or at least 1-2x per day. Make sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF of 30 or higher, on top of your moisturizer. Do not use products with Active Ingredients. Proper moisture applications will help relieve dry/tight sensation post treatment.
- Use gentle skin care. Avoid using harsh scrubs or exfoliating agents until the skin has fully healed.
- Resume normal products once flaking/dryness has subsided or after 5-7 days.
- Do not use Retin-A, Retinols, Tretinoin, for 7 days post procedure.
- Try to avoid makeup for 48-72 hours post-treatment. Please wash all makeup brushes prior to any makeup application.
- Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water helps your skin heal and regenerate more efficiently.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns.
Microneedling with PRF, Hyaluronic Acid, or Exosomes
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- Avoid sun exposure as much as possible for 48 hours after treatment. After 24 hours, you can apply a mineral based sunblock with an SPF of 30+. Reapply every 2 hours when out in the sun. Until the skin returns to normal, use an umbrella, hat, or other available protection against sunlight when outdoors, even on cloudy days.
- Resume normal products once flaking/dryness has subsided or after 5-7 days.
- Do not use Retin-A, Retinols, Tretinoin, for 7 days post procedure.
- Do not apply makeup the day of your treatment and try to avoid makeup for 48-72 hours post treatment. Please wash all makeup brushes prior to any makeup application.
- You will want to schedule your next treatment in 4-6 weeks. We usually recommend 2-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart if you are doing a series. You can start to see a difference in your skin at 1 week, but full results will not be seen until 8-12 weeks post procedure.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns.
You may experience some short-term skin responses, including but not limited to, the following:
- You will have a “sunburn” sensation typically for up to 48-72 hours post-treatment.
- Redness and swelling may occur. This is a normal response and duration will depend on individual treatments but is typically 1-3 days. You may take a Benadryl or Zyrtec to help with swelling. Cool packs, but not ice packs, may be applied if necessary to help relieve inflammation and provide comfort in the first 36 hours.
- Dry or mild crusting might be noted along with itchy skin within the first few days after treatment. This can also give a tight sensation. Regular application of the provided products will reduce this sensation. You may also mix in Hydrocortisone to help with itching. If crusting occurs it usually begins 1-2 days after treatment and sloughs off in 3-5 days. In the area treated you can expect to see a grid-like pattern for up to 2 weeks.
- A “bronzed” appearance may also occur within the first few days after treatment. For some this may appear more pink-toned along with mild/discrete flaking. It is important to not pick.
Facial Injections with PRF
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- Leave the treatment area alone. Do not apply any pressure such as rubbing or massaging.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns. If you experience any vision changes or pain, please contact us immediately.
BioRePeel / Chemical Peel
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- Immediately after treatment, avoid UV exposure.
- Avoid exercise and strenuous activities (with the exception of light walking) for the first 24 to 48 hours following treatment.
- Peeling of the skin is normal and expected. Do not pick or pull at the peeling skin. Let the skin shed naturally to avoid scarring or infections.
- Avoid makeup until your skin has healed completely as it may cause irritation or infection.
- Do not wash your face on the day of treatment.
- You may wash your face the following day with a gentle cleanser using your hands only. AVOID using a Clarisonic or any facial brushes or devices for a minimum of 5 to 7 days. Gently pat dry skin.
- Apply sunscreen with SPF of 45 or higher and a barrier cream as recommended by your provider to protect, soothe, and hydrate the skin. Apply as often as needed for comfort.
- Avoid glycolic acids, Vitamin C, scrubs, Tretinoin (Retin-A), and Retinol creams for 7 to 10 days.
- Avoid sun exposure and sun lamps.
- If you experience swelling or discomfort, applying cool compresses can help soothe the skin. Do not use ice directly on the skin.
- Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water will help your skin heal better and stay hydrated from the inside out.
- Wait a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks (or as directed by your provider) before receiving any additional skin care or laser treatments.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns.
Botox and Dysport
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- Leave the treatment area alone. Do not apply any pressure such as rubbing, massaging, or laying on face. Do not lay down for 4 hours.
- No strenuous activity or exercise for 24 hours. No facials or massages for 2 weeks.
- Avoid extended sun exposure until any redness/swelling has subsided. Be sure to apply SPF 30 or higher sunscreen to protect the skin from UV rays, aiding in the prevention of discoloration.
- You may wear makeup 2 hours after treatment.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns.
I understand that I should expect the following after treatment:
- You may experience a stinging sensation following the injection.
- Redness, minor swelling and tenderness at injection sites are normal. Some bruising may be visible.
- Patients can expect to see the full effect of Botox around 2 weeks after injection.
- Your satisfaction is important to us! You may return to the office in 2 weeks to see whether a touch up is necessary.
- Results last 3-4 months.
Dermal Fillers & Bio Fillers
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- 1 hour after treatment:
- Apply an ice pack and Arnica topically. You may also take Arnica + Bromelain tablets, which are both natural supplements to reduce bruising.
- For lip filler, apply castor oil to lips to reduce inflammation and soften the feeling of the filler. It is best to apply arnica first, then castor oil over it.
- Take acetaminophen to reduce pain as necessary.
- Avoid itching, massaging, or picking around the injection site. Itching sensation is normal and generally disappears within a few hours to a few days. If these symptoms last more than 3 days, please contact our office.
- For lip filler, avoid massaging lips, using straws, smoking, and any strenuous lip movements/sucking.
- Sunscreen and makeup can be applied, and you may use a gentle cleanser on the area.
- Until the swelling and redness have resolved, avoid intense heat in the treated areas. This includes sunbathing, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, and hot wax.
- To help alleviate swelling, we recommend antihistamines during the day, such as Zyrtec or Claritin, and Benadryl at night.
- Depending on the areas treated and the product used, you may feel firmness and slight bumps. These areas will soften and settle with time (usually 1-2 weeks).
- Avoid drinking alcohol or partaking in strenuous exercise, as it may result in additional bruising.
- To help alleviate bruising, we recommend taking Arnica or Bromelain, eating fresh pineapple, and applying ice to the area.
- If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores. Please let your physician assistant know if you are prone.
- Do not use dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any ingredients, or suffer from neurological disorders. Please inform us if you have any questions about this prior to your treatment.
- No dental work for at least two weeks after treatment.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns.
- Please contact us immediately if:
- You have fever and/or chills.
- You have discolored blotches in areas not injected.
- You have blanching of injected areas.
- You notice the area appears red and/or hot to the touch.
- You have severe or increasing pain.
Sculptra
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- You can resume exercise and apply makeup 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid extended UV exposure until any redness/swelling has subsided. Be sure to apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
- Massage the areas treated in a circular motion 5 times daily, for 5 minutes each time, for 5 consecutive days after the treatment.
- You may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol if you experience mild tenderness or discomfort.
- You may apply an ice or cold gel pack to the area(s) treated (avoiding pressure), as this helps reduce swelling and the potential for bruising.
- Avoid laser treatments for at least 2 weeks (or as directed by your provider).
- Avoid vaccines of any kind for at least 2 weeks.
- Avoid dental cleaning and dental work for at least 2 weeks.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns or if: you develop signs of infection (increasing swelling, pain, heat, or surrounding redness), the treated area appears to be getting worse, you are experiencing significant pain that is not relieved by the recommendations above, you develop severe swelling, redness, or bruising, that does not improve after 2 weeks.
I understand that I should expect the following after treatment:
- You may experience mild tenderness or a stinging sensation following the injection.
- Redness, minor swelling, and tenderness at injection sites are normal. Some bruising may be visible.
- Depending on the area(s) treated, you may feel “firmness” in the treated area(s) for 1 to 2 weeks after treatment. Over time, the area(s) will soften and “settle.”
Hylenex
Hylenex or Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that is used as the “reversal ” to dissolve the HA fillers. The HA filler is dissolved within a few hours (sometimes minutes) but there will be some swelling from the injection that can take 1 or 2 days to resolve. If additional treatment is needed, it can be done within 1 week.
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- Apply a cool compress to the treatment area.
- Avoid any heat-inducing activities for 24 hours.
- Do not perform strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid pressure on the area for the first 48 hours (e.g., avoid face-down massages).
- Do not massage the treatment area unless instructed to do so.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
- Avoid active cosmeceutical products (AHAs, retinol, vitamin C) for 24 hours.
- Do not apply oil-based makeup for 24 hours.
- Avoid blood thinning medication such as Aspirin and Ibuprofen for 7 days (unless medically necessary).
- Avoid facial treatments for 2 weeks after treatment (including facials, waxing, chemical peels, skin needling, Hydrafacials, IPL, or laser).
- Do not smoke, vape, or drink from a straw for 4 days post-treatment.
- Use a topical treatment to soothe the skin such as Bepanthen or Arnica cream.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns.
I understand that I should expect the following after treatment:
- The following are all normal side effects and should self-resolve within a few days: redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising, and tenderness.
- Swelling is a normal response to Hylenex. Swelling may appear asymmetrical, but this is normal and not an indication of the end result. The swelling should subside within a couple of days.
- To help with swelling, apply a cool compress to the area for 10 minutes every hour on treatment day, take an antihistamine (e.g., 10mg loratadine), and try sleeping on your back, slightly elevated, to prevent pressure build-up on the face.
- To help with bruising, avoid any medications containing NSAIDs, aspirin, vitamin E and ginseng for the week prior and the week following treatment, unless medically necessary and after discussion with your doctor/nurse. Apply a cool compress to the area for 10 minutes every hour on treatment day. Apply topical Arnica or Hirudoid cream to the affected area.
- Treatment with dermal filler to the corrected area can be performed no sooner than 14 days after the last treatment with Hylenex.
Laser Therapy
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- A mild to moderate sunburn-like sensation is anticipated. This usually resolves within 24-48 hours after treatment but may persist up to 72 hours. Cold compresses may be useful for the first 24 hours.
- Avoid hot showers, baths, or saunas for 48 hours after treatment.
- If mole/sunspot removal is done, a gradual darkening of pigmentation will occur. Do not pick at or try to scrub the area away. This is part of the healing process and it should start to slough off in 3 to 4 days.
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning creams to treated areas for 2-4 weeks post treatment.
- Use a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sun block of SPF 30 or greater. The effects of the sun are damaging to the skin. Exposing the treated areas to sun may result in increased scarring, color changes, and poor healing. The damaging effect of sun exposure occurs even with the use of sun block or clothing coverage.
- It is best to avoid makeup on the treated area for at least 24 hours post-treatment, as this can clog pores and lead to irritation.
- Use gentle skin care. Avoid using harsh scrubs or exfoliating agents until the skin has fully healed.
- Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water helps your skin heal and regenerate more efficiently.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns.
Hair Restoration with PRF or Exosomes
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- Do not wash your hair and scalp for at least 24 hours to allow the scalp to absorb the PRF and/or exosomes fully.
- Do not put any products (gel, spray, mousse, etc.) in your hair for at least 48 hours.
- It is best to not wear hair accessories or hats for at least 24 hours.
- Do not use hot tools on your hair (e.g., blow-dryer, curler, straightener) for at least 48 hours.
- Avoid strenuous activities, especially those that may cause sweating, for the first 24-48 hours.
- Do not undergo chemical treatments such as coloring, perming, straightening, etc. for at least 1 week after treatment to avoid irritating the scalp.
- Minimize sun exposure. Protect your scalp from direct sunlight by using an umbrella (or hat after 24 hours) for the first few days after treatment.
- Leave the treatment area alone. Do not apply any pressure such as rubbing or massaging.
- Apply cold compress if necessary to soothe scalp.
- You may experience headaches, for which you may take Tylenol.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns.
Jet Plasma
I understand that for best possible results I should do the following after treatment:
- Due to the channels in the skin being open, it is important that nothing is applied to your skin for 12 hours other than what was applied immediately after your treatment.
- No make-up should be worn on the skin for 12 hours after treatment.
- No exercise, sauna, or steam room for 12 hours.
- After 12 hours, you can resume your normal skincare routine. Don’t forget your sunscreen (100% mineral sunscreen recommended preferably with 20% zinc oxide).
- Drink lots of pure filtered water to stay hydrated. Oral hyaluronic acid supplements, Vit C, and Collagen powder can also be used to help stimulate collagen and keep skin at its best. (Consult with your doctor if you have allergies or health conditions before taking any supplements.)
- For best results use high quality skin products after your treatment. It is important to follow a good skincare routine and protect your skin from the sun. You should keep the skin clean, hydrated, and protected with a high-SPF sunscreen.
- Don’t forget to schedule your next session! Sessions can be scheduled 48-72 hours apart up to 1 week.
- Please call us at (760) 209-5605 if you have any questions or concerns.
IV Therapy
I understand that I should expect the following after treatment:
- Many people experience an increase in energy, mental alertness, and overall sense of wellbeing immediately following their IV treatment. These effects may be subtle or may not be noticed until the next day or days following treatment. You may require several IV treatments before you begin to experience a benefit.
- Chronic stress, illness, lack of sleep, and poor eating habits can all contribute to nutrient depletion. Without adequate nutrition, metabolism inside our cells becomes sluggish, leading to a buildup of waste product inside the cell. IV therapy delivers high doses of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids directly into the blood stream that readily cross cell membranes to ‘kick-start’ cellular metabolism. It is therefore normal to experience mild fatigue, headache, nausea or light- headedness following your IV treatment. This is especially common after your first few IV treatments, as your body works to clear any stored metabolic waste products.
- Minor bruising of the IV site is common and should resolve within the week. If you experience redness, swelling or pain of your arm or at your injection site, please contact us right away.
You may continue with your daily activities, including exercise following your IV treatment. It is important to continue to stay hydrated and eat regular meals.
If you have any questions or concerns following your IV treatment, please call us at (760) 209-5605.
